On May 27th 2016, representative of South Essex College of UK, Mr. Gong Tao, general manager of Chengdu Huajun Education & Consolation Co., Ltd, Mr. Xu Yuanqiang and their colleagues paid a visit to our college. Based on our communications several times, they came to our college, mainly to have detailed discussion about cooperation in running schools in the department of Clothing Technological Design, Electrical Automation and Art Design.
Firstly, Director of International Affairs Office, Ms. Zhang Xiaoqian has accompanied the guests to visit College History Museum, so that they can have a better understanding of our college; afterwards they have visited School of Apparel, the conduction training room, in which shoes are made, as well as the exhibition room with students’ works, have deeply impressed Mr. Gong. He claimed, there were similar conditions in South Essex College.
In the meantime, our guests found amazing of professional equipment and training bases; Ms. Li Hong, Vice Dean Electrical Engineering School gave a comprehensive introduction about training base and video media training base; Mr. Liu Chang, Dean of Art School also represented majors setup and works exhibition of their students.
In the afternoon, Prof. Xia Ping, President of our college had hosted cooperation conference. Mr. Song Chao, Director of Office of Academic Affairs, and related colleagues of OIA also attended the conference. Both sides had a very detailed discussion about every term of cooperation contract, President Xia inquired carefully about students recruitment numbers, course arrangements, teaching plan, teaching materials, lecturer trainings, students management etc. The conference had a very good atmosphere and made great progresses. Thanks to the representatives from Huajun Education Co., Ltd., which played as an impeller of our college’s cooperation with South Essex College.
South Essex College was originally founded in 1899, which was a well-known Art college at first. On January 1st 2010, its name changed to South Essex College, a higher education college among national colleges. Now there are roughly 16,000 students at the college and they have 3 campuses in total, which are located in Basildon, Detheroc and Southend-on-Sea. School of Fashion Design and Art Design are located at the latter two campuses.
